Reports emerged that, on 20 March, Paula Whitelaw, 71, fell and hit her head on the ground when going downstairs at Krakow Airport. The incident caused a cerebral brain haemorrhage and a broken collar bone which resulted in her death on 13 April. Passengers were rushing down the stairs to a bus that had arrived to take them to their Ryanair flight to Manchester. Whitelaw was at the front the of the group, and it is believed that several passengers had fallen due to the rush which caused a domino effect.
