Kuo Chih-yen, a flight attendant for EVA Air, was dismissed for posting on a Line chat group that she was going to ‘add extras’ to a pilot’s meal after he opposed a Taoyuan Flight Attendants Union strike. Screenshots of the chat spread on 7 July and Kuo, a union board member, claimed she was only joking and had apologised. The union claimed that EVA Air’s response was excessive and revenge for the strike.
