11 June 2021: En Route from Los Angeles to Atlanta

On a Delta flight from Los Angeles, Calif, to Atlanta, Georgia, an off-duty flight attendant commandeered the public address system onboard the aircraft and told passengers to get back in their seats, saying oxygen masks would deploy soon. A confrontation ensued that required wrestling a man to the floor and detaining him. Delta Flight 1730 diverted to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma due to the fracas. Passengers were requested to assist in restraining the man and there was no shortage of volunteers to help. A video posted to social media showed the lead flight attendant directing the volunteers to, “Get him down. Keep him down.” The man was then restrained with zip tie handcuffs and moved to the back row of the aircraft. He was removed from the aircraft in Oklahoma City by local police upon landing. He was later released into the custody of the FBI.
