Reports emerged that police filed a 700-page chargesheet against Aditya Rao, 36, in connection with an incident in which a bag containing an improvised explosive device was left near a ticketing counter at Mangaluru International on 20 January. Although the device contained explosives, a timer and sharp objects, none of the elements were connected and it was determined that Rao had intended the device to cause fear but not explode.
