The Gabon football team arrived at Banjul Airport the day before their match against The Gambia in an African Cup of Nations qualifying match but were prevented from leaving the airport due to an administrative problem relating to Covid tests. Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who plays for Arsenal, tweeted about the problem. Ivory Coast captain, and Tottenham player, Serge Aurier, tweeted his support for the Gabon team. Gabon were able to leave in the morning, hours before their game, which they lost to The Gambia 2-1.
