Leroy Thomas Hyland, 26, pleaded guilty to threatening and assaulting a flight attendant on board a Delta Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Sydney last October. Hyland had reportedly taken more than the recommended dose of sleeping pills and woke up in a frenzied state with the belief that passengers and aircrew were part of a gang who robbed him. Leroy received a fine of AU$4,000 (c. £ 2,155) and was ordered to complete 550 hours of community service.
