16 DECEMBER 2020: ANCHORAGE, ALASKA

Eduardo Garcia, 31, a California resident recently released from jail for shoplifting and with an outstanding arrest warrant for grand theft auto, made an anonymous call to Anchorage International, claiming a bomb had been planted in the South Terminal near the Alaska Airlines ticket desk. An unattended bag was found in the specified area but was found not to be dangerous. Five minutes after placing the call, Garcia identified himself to police. Upon his arrest, he was found to be carrying a small knife and a bag of methamphetamine. Garcia told police he had come to the airport to blow it up.
