A man died after he got stuck between a New York City Q train and the platform and fell below to the tracks, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (M.T.A.) said.
The accident happened at the Avenue M station in Midwood, Brooklyn. The man, Marcus Bryant, 37, was taken to Maimonides Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
It was initially thought his clothes had gotten stuck in the door of the train. But later in a press conference Richard Davey, the president of New York City Transit, the M.T.A. division that oversees the subway, said he “was caught between the train and the platform and later fell into the pit, on the tracks, and a second train came over.”
