Ibrahim Layık, a security guard at Istanbul International Airport, completed suicide by jumping from the departures floor. It is alleged that he felt discriminated against for being Kurdish; he had been rejected by a female colleague due to his Kurdish roots. He took and posted a clearly distressed photograph of himself on Instagram two hours before jumping.
