A Lion Air subsidiary, Malindo Air, confirmed a data breach that occurred in August. Millions of passenger details including passport information, home addresses, phone numbers and email addresses were leaked onto a variety of forums. It is believed that the data that had been stolen was stored on a cloud-based system. Payment details are believed to have not been affected as they were stored on another server. Other subsidiaries of Lion Air are believed to have been affected by this breach including Thai Lion Air and Batik Air.
