2 OCTOBER 2020: DOHA, QATAR

Women on 10 flights from Hamad International Airport, including 18 women on a flight bound for Sydney, were stripped searched by Qatari authorities after a new-born girl was found at a terminal in a plastic bag in a bin. The women were taken to an ambulance and forced to undergo invasive examination so the authorities could find the mother of the child. The women were not informed about the discovery of the baby before undergoing examination. The Qatari government apologised for the way the women were treated.
