Nishal Sankat, 22, a student pilot at Florida Tech, breached perimeter security at Orlando Melbourne International and boarded an American Airlines aircraft that was undergoing maintenance. It was determined later in court that Sankat, who had just been issued with a pilot’s licence but was not qualified to fly the airliner in question, had attempted to steal the plane in an attempt to harm himself.
