American Airlines Flight 3444 en route to D.C. from Jacksonville, Florida, diverted to Raleigh, North Carolina, due to an unruly passenger, according to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The flight, operated by Envoy Air as American Eagle, was scheduled from Jacksonville, Fla., to Reagan National but ended up landing at RDU International, instead. The flight diverted at approximately 3:41 p.m. The Raleigh-Durham airport released a statement on the incident, saying that after it landed, law enforcement boarded the plane and took the passenger into custody. “Safety and security are our top priorities, and we thank our customers for their cooperation and our team members for their professionalism in managing a difficult situation,” an American Airlines spokesperson said in a news report.
