Damien Tokutaahi Hadfield, 26, told airport security that his relative, who was due to fly to Auckland with Air New Zealand, had a bomb in his luggage as a ‘prank’. The relative was subsequently removed from the flight. On 21 September, Hadfield pleaded guilty in court to providing false information about the safety of an aircraft but was discharged without conviction.
