Reports emerged that New Zealand’s CAA did not prosecute a senior flight instructor for allegedly groping his student, Michelle Molloy, during a flight. In 2010, Molloy was training as a pilot and was pursued by her instructor. There was an investigation, after Molloy’s parents complained, and it was deemed that the sexual advances when the flight was airborne was a risk to safety, however the instructor was not prosecuted due to public interest and the potential impact on the victim. Molloy was later removed from the school by the instructor.
