Senator Matthew Urhoghide, Mrs. Stella Evbuomwan and two others were severely assaulted by individuals believed to be members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as they arrived in Benin from Abuja. The incident later sparked peaceful protests throughout the city by members of the People’s Democratic Party.
