28 OCTOBER 2018: LONDON HEATHROW, ENGLAND

Katsutoshi Jitsukawa, a 42-year-old Japan Airlines pilot, was arrested at Heathrow Airport for being more than nine times over the legal alcohol limit before operating a B-777 to Tokyo. It was an observant crew bus driver who alerted the police of his concerns having smelled alcohol on the pilot’s breath. Jitsukawa was found gargling mouthwash in the aircraft’s toilets after being challenged. He was later sentenced to 10 months in jail and lost his job at the airline.
