31 OCTOBER 2019: INCHEON, SOUTH KOREA

Dorj Odbayar, 52, the chairman of Mongolia’s constitutional court, and his colleague allegedly sexually harassed flight attendants on a Korean Air flight from Ulaanbaatar to Incheon. The men were released by airport police after they showed their diplomatic passports and claimed they had diplomatic immunity. However, only heads of state and foreign ministers are entitled to diplomatic immunity. Odbayar was arrested on 6 November and released on bail with the condition that he does not leave the country in case he is needed for further questioning. He was fined 7 million won (c. £4,500) on 13 November and was able to return to Mongolia.
