7 OCTOBER 2020: TEL AVIV, ISRAEL

At least five volunteers of Magen David Adom (Israel’s equivalent of Red Cross) were arrested for carrying out unsanctioned coronavirus tests on civilians coming into and leaving the country in various locations, including Ben Gurion Airport. Allegedly, the tests were conducted improperly, potentially leading to a number of false negative results and individuals mistakenly believing they did not need to quarantine. Additionally, the tests were allegedly sent to private labs, so the results were not recorded on the Health Ministry’s database.
