7 SEPTEMBER 2019: LAGOS, NIGERIA

The duty manager of Virgin Atlantic Airways and another employee at Murtala Muhammed International Airport were arrested because an unruly passenger filed a case against them. Two days earlier the passenger had arrived late at the airport to catch his flight to London. Check-in was closed and the passenger was abusive to staff who advised him to come back the next day to get another flight. The passenger returned the next day and was refused entry to a flight because he threatened staff. On the third day he came back to the airport with police and had them arrested. The police allegedly harassed the airline workers. The Inspector General of Police’s office is involved in resolving the matter.
