California Ports Reach Record High Capacity

The ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, Calif. have set an all-time record of 65 vehicles awaiting entry as of mid-September, 2021. One report said the containers onboard them could reach, end-to-end, halfway across the United States. Additional vehicles were expected in the coming days, increasing the backlog. Los Angeles port data showed the average wait for an anchorage slot was 8.2 days as of September 21, 2021, compared to 6.2 days in August of this year.
