Daifuku Co., Ltd. has supplied Japan Airlines with Self Baggage Drops (SBDs) that were developed in collaboration with the company. SBDs enable passengers to check in their own baggage by following the on-screen instructions, reducing queuing time compared to conventional manned check-in counters. Japan Airlines commenced operation of six SBD units at Haneda Airport Terminal 1 for domestic flights in February 2020, and plans to introduce a total of 38 units to the terminal by summer 2020.
