Drones Used in Attempt on Iraq Prime Minister’s Life

This past Sunday an attempted assassination of the Iraq prime minister, Mustafa al-Kadhimi, failed. Armed drones were used in the attack at his residence. He suffered minor cuts and seven of his security guards were wounded. At least two drones were involved. The prime minister took to television to make a speech and assure people the attempt failed. In his speech he said “Cowardly rocket and drone attacked don’t build homelands and don’t build a future.” Leaders from around the world condemned the attack. Security video footage showed damage to the home and grounds. A van was badly damaged, there appeared to be damage to a landing near a stairway and cracks in the ceiling and walls of the balcony.
