Synectics Security, one of UK and Ireland’s leading specialists in security integration for transport infrastructure and vehicles, is rebranding to Ocular Integration (Ocular) under new leadership.
The rebrand reflects the company’s independence and visionary focus on delivering the latest technical solutions and innovations for protecting buses, trains, stations, depots, terminals, ports, and the people who use them. It also sees the appointment of new managing director, Chris Jepson.
With a ‘hands-on’ background in security technology engineering – particularly relating to intelligently integrated on-vehicle solutions for highly regulated urban transport providers – and over two decades’ industry experience, Jepson is ready to lead Ocular into what he believes is an exciting new era for the business.
“Transport infrastructure and service operators face an increasingly complex array of challenges,” Jepson said. “The age-old need to protect revenues and ease cost pressures is often now seemingly at odds with finding new ways to guard against sophisticated physical and cyber security threats, work more collaboratively with stakeholders, and meet passenger expectations in terms of service provision. At Ocular, we have both keen vision and ability to help customers navigate this tricky and rapidly evolving landscape.
“We have a vast network of technology partners and decades of technical and project management experience – projects always delivered in strict compliance with regulatory standards. All of which means that whether an organiZation needs the latest in AI-based analytics, the ability to securely share system access or footage with authorities and/or insurers, or innovative new on-vehicle camera and mirror replacement technologies, we will always focus in on what matters to deliver solutions perfectly tailored to specific needs and budget.”
Attendees of this year’s Euro Bus Expo, taking place from November 12-14 at Birmingham NEC, will be the first to see Ocular’s new brand identity in person.
The company is set to release more information on its attendance imminently, including details of ‘on-board hub technology’ set to unlock new levels of integration and operational efficiency by revolutionising the on-vehicle eco system.
Ocular will continue to operate out of its Nottingham HQ, building on the highly experienced team and 45-year heritage established under the Quadrant Security Group and Synectics Security brands.
In addition to working with many of leading transport organisations, including LNER, NEXUS, Stagecoach, and Dublin Bus, Ocular provides solutions for customers in government, high-security, public space, heritage, custodial services, utilities, and other critical infrastructure.
Chris added: “Ocular isn’t just a new name for us. It’s a rebrand that symbolises our unwavering dedication to a vigilant and forward-thinking approach to security. It epitomises our goal to deliver precise and reliable solutions that our customers can depend on completely. Now and well into the future.”
