The bodies of people 22 on board a barge that sank during a cyclone off the coast of India are being recovered. 177 people have been rescued but there were 400 on two barges, one of which did not sink. Cyclone Tauktae made landfall Monday after wreaking havoc in the waters of the Arabia Sea off Mumbai. The barges were working in the offshore oil drilling business carrying personnel being deployed for drilling. The ship’s anchors gave way in the strong seas and winds, reportedly. Meteorologists recorded winds of up to 130 miles per hour when it made landfall. The search for survivors continues but the number of fatalities is expected to rise.
