Removal of Oil from Damaged Ship in Progress in Yellow Sea

The ship, A Symphony, was involved in a collision with another bulk carrier, Sea Justice, in dense fog in late April (27 April 2021). The incident occurred 40 nautical miles from Qingdao Port. After the collision, several hundred tonnes of oil reportedly spilled into the Yellow Sea. Work began to remove the rest of the oil from the ship as soon as conditions improved enough to travel out to the site and is scheduled to be completed this week. No reported injuries to either of the crews and traffic to and from the port was not impeded.
