Several Russian warships that had been in Havana for five days left the port Monday, June 17. The ships included a nuclear-powered submarine, a frigate, an oil tanker and a rescue tug. Some reports say the planned military exercise is a show of strength by Moscow as tensions between Russia and the U. S. and other nations is on the rise.
