U. S. Customs and Border Protection Helicopter Crashes

A helicopter flying for U. S. Customs and Border Protection experienced an inflight fire in the air and subsequently crashed at an airport near Oklahoma City, Okla. last week. The pilots, who were on a training flight, survived. The pilots, one instructor and one trainee, were taken to a local hospital and treated there. The helicopter was destroyed, continuing to burn once on the ground. Ultimately, the helicopter was burned down to the frame. The fire was extinguished once firefighters arrived at the scene. The accident is being investigated.
