14 MAY 2020: AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS

11 Greenpeace protestors were arrested at Schiphol Airport for protesting the financial aid the airlines sector was set to receive because of the coronavirus pandemic. The Greenpeace protestors stated that they would like the aid to be authorised based on airlines meeting conditions to lower CO2 levels. The protestors occupied the Aalsmeerbaan runway and entered the secure area by using a small bridge to pass over a ditch that separates the airport from a public road.
