Chloe Fitzpatrick, 19, was initially told by a senior member of Thomas Cook cabin crew that she wouldn’t be able to travel home to Manchester after her holiday in Zakynthos because of her severe and life-threatening allergy to strawberries. The crewmember told Fitzpatrick she didn’t “feel comfortable” having her on board. Fitzpatrick did eventually fly after it was agreed products containing strawberries would not be served.
