YouTube denied access to the live stream of a San Francisco State University webinar featuring Leila Khaled, 76, a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine who participated in the hijacking of both TWA flight 840 from Rome to Israel in 1969 and an El Al flight from Amsterdam to New York in 1970. The webinar was organised by the university’s Department of Arab and Muslim Ethnicities and Diasporas Studies, but the feed was interrupted after 30 minutes and replaced with the message: “this video has been removed for violating YouTube’s Terms of Service”. Zoom had also refused to allow the webinar to take place on its platform.
