Adil Kayani, 35, claimed his “dignity was violated” on an EasyJet flight from Marrakesh to Manchester when a steward barged in on him whilst he was using the toilet. EasyJet claimed that its safety and security protocol state that when a passenger is in the toilet for over 15 minutes and does not respond to a knock, the crew can enter. Kayani claimied he had only been there for 10 minutes and did respond to the steward. EasyJet offered Kayani £500 as a goodwill gesture, which Kayani declined. Kayani claimed it was racial discrimination and Islamophobic because of his Pakistani heritage.
