A Cham Wings flight from Tehran to Damascus was forced to make an emergency landing at Russian-controlled Khmeimim air base after it was almost attacked by the Syrian Air Defense Force. Russia defended the force’s actions by claiming that an Israeli air strike that killed 23 pro-Iran militia members on the previous day led to the Syrian Air Defense Force remaining on high alert.
