6 JANUARY 2019: PORT HARCOURT, NIGERIA

Air Peace crew members thwarted a plan to traffic a three-day old baby. The all-female crew became wary of a woman who was handling the baby in an unusual manner when boarding the flight to Lagos from Port Harcourt. The aircrew questioned the woman who could not keep her story straight. When asked to breastfeed the baby, the woman stated she could not as she did not produce any milk, which increased the air crews’ suspicion. The crew told the woman she could not fly as the airline prohibits anyone flying with a week-old baby. The case was later handed to the Department of State Services who congratulated the Air Peace air crew for stopping the trafficking.
